SNOECK LAB

Using organoids to tackle fibrotic lung disease

Welcome to the website of Hans Snoeck's lab at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.

The lab is part of the Columbia Center for Human Development/Center for Stem Cell Therapies, the Department of Medicine and the Department of Microbiology & Immunology.

The lab’s initial focus was the biology of hematopoietic stem cells. This focus has shifted over the last decade to an extensive and in-depth effort to elucidate the pathogenesis of progressive lung fibrosis and to identify innovative treatments for this intractable group of diseases using stem cell-derived lung organoids pioneered by our lab.
